Title of the work: El vendedor de cerillas
Author: Dix Otto
Date: 1921
Type of property: oil on canvas
Artistic style: constructionism
Description:
In the picture we see as a legless veteran, probably lost in the war, it lies on the floor selling cerrillas.
Regarding the background of the picture we can see a street oddball careless where blind veteran is leaning on what appears to be a door.
The table can also be seen as a small
sausage dog urinating on the '' foot '' the blind. This (the blind) as I see it is an old man, you can see this in his sparse hair in his shaggy beard and his mouth just has a tooth.
You can also see the feet of two people who seem to be higher than the vendor class matches.
With regard to the colors you can see that the author of this box uses more vivid colors to reflect the people of a higher class, while the seller used duller colors, where black predominates.
Connection witch historial moment: In the picture we can see the situation that exists in the ocuntry, the decline of this, seeing as one of its veterans without legs (probabbly caused by the war) is on the ground selling matches.
